Update: Due to a website glitch, tonight’s workshop is free and open to all

There’s always some 11th-hour glitch in the Matrix that turns your molehill milk-run into a brawl on kung fu mountain.

In this case, that glitch is my website’s Contact Me page. I don’t know where it’s sending messages nowadays, but the Contact is not Me. Thanks to yesterday’s test message—still MIA—even I couldn’t Contact Me.

So, I apologize for my lack of response if you’ve tried to contact me about joining tonight’s writing workshop. My lack of response is due to a lack of receipt.

Due to my late Lack awareness, I’m treating tonight’s workshop like an open house: all are welcome, this session is Free (or, as one of my girlfriends says, “$Free.99”), and the updated details are below.

May this Glitch become a Mob.

A Flash Mob.

A Writing Mob.

I hope to see you tonight!

Hello, again, to all my friends…

gif from Iron Man of Tony Stark in his workshop clapping and saying "Wake up. Daddy's home," to his AI, JARVIS, who turns on the many lights and machines, bringing the workshop back to life.

Hello, blog of mine. Long time no see!

Hello, official website! Did you miss me?

I have emerged from an abyss bearing gifts: new writing groups, both virtual and in person. I hope you like the revamped Writing Groups webpage, now visible to the public again.

And hello to you, gentle readers. It’s been a while. I meant to write something serious for this first post after the gap years… But I run writing groups in part to prove to people that writing is fun and, with the Amherst Writers and Artists method, especially, that writing workshops can and should be places to play bravely and boldly and safely, and be as silly as your heart demands.

That kind of risk-taking starts at the top. So, being the change I want to see in the world…

Yes, this post’s title is from the Barney TV show. I encourage you to finish the rhyme in your head, because it holds true for my workshops.

Yes, the gif of Tony Stark waking JARVIS after surviving captivity and coming back changed feels several layers of appropriate.

Yes, if you’ve checked out my Writing Groups page, you’ll notice I scheduled a workshop for Monday, April 20th, 2026. Yes, it’s because I think it’s funny. But it’s also because I enjoy thinking that had a particular dictator spent his birthdays smoking in accordance with the American 4/20 holiday and hanging out with other artists who’d encourage him and help him grow as an artist, he might not have turned that creativity toward causing World War II.

So, give me your red-penned, your tired writers seeking shelter to nurture their creativity and correct the misapprehension that they are not writers with creative genius and things to say that are worthy and welcome to hear!

I have returned to my writing and inspiratrix roots, and plan to take everyone with me.

Come with me if you want to write. Let’s all live a little.
